Poor Maika...

And with that, all three members of the CoA team are back and ready to continue creating pages! I absolutely love the way :icontiffa: handled these ones, with very strong usage of the toning to build a sense of dread in the final two panels.

Figures, He Collects Figures by MesoPhunk
Figures, He Collects Figures
Greetings! Well, all members of the CoA team are now back from vacationing in various parts of the world, so updates will resume shortly! In the meantime, just to post something, I took this picture of my newest figure that arrived in the mail this week, which actually was an early Christmas gift to me.

In my youth I used to collect figures that were meticulously sculpted, and I became fascinated by the work that went into them. Back then it was all about Todd MacFarlane's stuff, and I was drawn to the Movie Maniacs series he did due to my love of horror films. But as the series went on, it became less and less interesting and diverse, and there was even an entire series devoted to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot, so I lost interest. However, I always admired the amazing figures I would see at ACen, or the ones I saw in Yodobashi Camera when I was in Japan, so after that trip I decided I would start collecting again once I found figures of characters that I held dear, or in some cases, figures that were given to me.

As you can see, I have:
- four Chie Satonaka figures
- one Naoto Shirogane (I plan to get more once I find them online)
- a small Hatsune Miku. I don't actually like the character of Vocaloid all that much. What happened was we got addicted to UFO Catchers in Japan and one of my friends was trying to get all of the Vocaloid ones in that line, but ended up with doubles of that Miku so he gave me one
- Celica from beatmania IIDX (again, it's not so much the character as it is the game she's from, as it helped mold my musical career)
- three Ryuko Matoi figures, the large Real Action Heroes one being the newest

I found out after unboxing her that I suck at posing them. She has a lot of articulation points, and I even had a cool idea for a pose, but I couldn't get the legs to look right and she looked more like she was slipping than anything, so I went with this one. I also wasn't expecting her to be made of rubber, I thought it would be hard plastic like the other ones. Well, some parts seem to be plastic, but her torso and most of her limbs are rubbery, or possibly just a much softer plastic.  Senketsu is also a really dark blue on this one rather than solid black, which looks really awesome under bright lights. She came with two changeable faces, three sets of changeable eyes, different hand poses you can swap out and the regular Scissor Blade and the Decapitation Mode one.I'm really impressed with the detail and just how good it looks up close and from afar. Apologies for the crap picture quality, I took it on my iPhone and while it looks clear there, it's all blurry after putting it on my computer. I need to get a real camera.

Updates for Code of Amanis will resume soon!

No, those were definitely not friends of hers. Looks like Ken is going to go reintroduce himself...

With this page comes news of a hiatus for CoA for at least a few weeks. I'm going on vacation next weekend and won't be able to update, and also Tiffa is on vacation as well! I may have some more supplementary work I can put up in the meantime, or I may even just put up some of Tania's pencils and then replace them with the inked versions when they're complete :) See you all soon, I'll keep you updated!

As Aki comes to realize never to doubt her brother's perceptive abilities, the two watch as a group of students approach Maika...

Hello again! In my last journal I said I would talk about the various music projects I have coming up when I was allowed to, and that time is now upon us.

First up, I've been steadily working on a bootleg remix of Ragyo Kiryuin's theme from Kill la Kill, Blumenkranz. It's my own mashup of Powerstomp and more traditional J-Core melodies and structure. You can hear an in-progress demo here: Bloomin' Garden

Secondly, me and my musical partner DJ SymBiotiX have a new collaboration track which is going to be available on FREQUENCY BLITZ 2, alongside many other talented producers such as cranky, Minamotoya and Teikyou! You can here a sample of our track "High Time" here and you can pre-order the album over at the bandcamp for FREQUENCY BLITZ 2!

And lastly, and for me this is the big one: Every year at Anime Central, my buddies over at Attack The Music put on an amazing party called Hardcore Synergy which brings in DJ's from Japan to perform in the US. This year, they had one of the top names in J-Core, DJ Noriken, produce an anthem for the event. He even brought along yukacco to provide her amazing vocals! And so, Attack The Music has decided to put together an EP of various remixes of the Hardcore Synergy Anthem, and mine was chosen as one of the remixes. That means I'll be appearing alongside many of my idols in the J-Core scene, such as DJ Noriken, M-Project, RoughSketch, DJ Shimamura and many others! It also means that I got to work with yukacco's vocals, which was an amazing experience! You can pre-order that album at the bandcamp page for the Hardcore Synergy Anthem 2014! *UPDATE* A wild preview appears! Check it out!

CoA is also still updating! In addition to the main website (www.coacomic.com), Code of Amanis is also featured on GMI (gmimanga.exepicstudios.com/les… and over at MangaMagazine, which is now known as InkBlazers (www.inkblazers.com/manga-and-c…. You can also just read it here on DA too, if you're so inclined! I used to only update on Sundays, but I've been following a less rigid schedule as of late and kind of just update whenever it's convenient for me. Still once a week for the time being!

Thanks guys and gals!
